Hi, I’m Aman
My path to becoming a counsellor began long before I entered the field — it grew from a lifelong desire to bring comfort, understanding, and hope to others.
I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and after working in a pharmacy, a laboratory, and in sales, I realized that what truly fulfilled me wasn’t the work itself, but the human connection behind it. I found meaning in listening, supporting, and helping others navigate life’s challenges.
That realization inspired me to pursue my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, where I began shaping the practice that would later become Elephant Path Therapy.

Before entering the counselling field professionally, I volunteered with organizations such as Make-a-Wish and the Sunshine Foundation, helping children with critical illnesses and disabilities fulfill their dreams. These experiences were deeply personal — my brother was once a Make-a-Wish kid after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Witnessing his journey, and the emotional impact it had on my family, revealed to me the profound importance of emotional support during hardship. It was then that I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others heal — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
Now, after three years of professional experience in the counselling field, I work with individuals, couples, families, and youth to explore their experiences with compassion and curiosity. My approach is collaborative and heart-centered, blending evidence-based techniques with mindfulness and emotional attunement.
I believe therapy is more than problem-solving — it’s about understanding the stories we carry, building resilience, and finding balance within ourselves and our relationships. Each session is a step toward greater clarity, healing, and connection.
My Approach
My work is client-centered and integrative, meaning each session is tailored to your unique needs and goals. I draw from a blend of approaches that support insight, balance, and belonging.
My foundation is Adlerian Therapy, which views human beings as motivated by the desire to connect, contribute, and find meaning. I often work with clients navigating the space between cultures, expectations, and identities — helping them explore how belonging and independence coexist.
I also integrate:
Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring how early experiences shape present thoughts and emotions.
Mindfulness-Based and Somatic Practices – strengthening awareness of the mind-body connection for emotional regulation.
Trauma-Informed Care – fostering safety and understanding while processing painful experiences.
At the heart of my practice is compassion, curiosity, and cultural sensitivity — and a belief that healing unfolds when we feel seen, understood, and supported in becoming our whole selves.
